My Tattoo design from scratch for fineline, dotwork or traditional motifs follows a series of steps that I consistently adhere to.
First, I create a basic "construction" of shapes. This involves drawing circles, squares, and other geometric forms to establish the rough proportions of the design. The shapes I use—ovals, circles, squares—depend on the style I aim to achieve.
Next, I add a second layer on top of the basic geometry to start defining the design more clearly. The basic shapes serve as a guide, helping me understand where my lines might go. Whether the lines are inside or outside the initial geometry doesn't matter; it's a flexible guide that allows for creative exploration.
Once the second layer is defined, I add a third layer to refine curves and bends that I wasn't satisfied with in the previous drawing. I repeat this layering process as many times as necessary to get as close to my vision as possible, typically requiring 3-4 layers for the final design.
After finalizing the requested design, I meet with my clients to discuss it. Usually, my clients are very happy with the result, and we only need to add a few more details.
And that's basically it.
Thx for watching!
